 Craniosacral Therapy

Reduce stress, tension, pain
Increase vitality & resilience

A light-touch body & mind therapy

About me

My name is Lia Schiesches

I spent many years training and performing in a variety of fields including Dance, Flamenco, Acrobatics and most passionately and life changing Capoeira.

Life events led to the desire to complement this background and learn therapies that are using hands as their tools to treat bodies.

I worked from 1997 to 2023 as a Massage Therapist were, for the most part, the slow and deep strokes of Myofascial Release were my preferred treatment style.

When I qualified in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in 2013

I came to Lia for Cranio after a period of very poor health. I had previously benefited from her excellent massage. I had developed Uveitis (eye condition) and Achalasia, a rare autoimmune disease affecting the oesophagus. I was very malnourished, deconditioned and experiencing a lot of pain. Achalasia causes spasms, pain from food blockages and irritates the Vagus nerve.  This was my first experience of Cranio and the gentle and deeply relaxing treatments helped me with pain management, reconnecting me to my body in a kindly way and releasing the holding and tension that comes with chronic pain. Lia is a skilled and intuitive practitioner, I felt safe and supported and Cranio was a key part of my journey to living well with chronic illness.

Cheers

Anne
